About the Foundation
The Tiwa Savage Music Foundation (TSMF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to unlocking access to world-class music education for emerging artists across Africa. Founded by Grammy-nominated artist and Berklee alumna Tiwa Savage, TSMF believes that talent is everywhere in Africa but access to training and opportunity is not.
TSMF was established with the inaugural Berklee in Nigeria intensive taking place in April 2026, marking the beginning of the foundation's active programming.
To build the next generation of African music leaders: artists, producers, executives, and creative business owners. We connect them to serious music education, mentorship, and real industry opportunity — starting with the communities that have been heard the least.
The foundation is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, with a global outlook rooted in the African music industry.
Our Programmes
It is TSMF's first programme, a 4-day immersive training experience delivered in partnership with Berklee Global. Participants receive intensive instruction in Performance, Songwriting, Production, and Music Business, taught by Berklee-trained faculty alongside Nigerian industry professionals.
Berklee Global faculty deliver the curriculum alongside leading Nigerian music industry professionals, giving participants both international pedagogical depth and locally grounded industry knowledge.
The 2026 intensive was held at the MUSON Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
The intensive runs for four consecutive days, typically from Tuesday to Saturday, with structured daily sessions from morning through evening.
Participants receive a certificate of completion from Berklee Global, recognising their participation in the Berklee in Nigeria intensive.
Applications & Eligibility
Applications are open to emerging musicians and music professionals across Nigeria. We look for demonstrated talent, creative ambition, and a commitment to growth. Formal qualifications are not required.
Yes. TSMF funds full scholarships covering tuition, accommodation, and meals for a number of selected participants. In 2026, 18 full scholarships valued at a combined $2.1 million were awarded. We believe talent, not finances, should determine who attends.
Applications for the next cohort will be announced on TSMF's Instagram and other social channels. Follow us to be notified as soon as applications open.
Very. The inaugural 2026 cohort received over 2,100 applications for 120 places. We review every application carefully and select participants based on artistic potential and alignment with the foundation's mission.
